St Lawrence Church Choir Jumpers

CONCEPT

To support the choir whist St Lawrence Church undergoes renovation, I revived and redesigned the St Lawrence Church Choir jumpers. These were originally worn over a decade ago, to provide a practical and meaningful alternative to cassocks whilst at practice or on the road! With the choir currently moving between locations, transporting cassocks would risk loss and damage, making the return of the jumpers both necessary and timely.

The design centres around a Tree of Life inspired motif on the centre back of the jumpers, the idea of this logo originally created by previous young choristers, honouring St Lawrence Church Choir’s legacy and continuity. The rich burgundy colour references the traditional cassocks, maintaining a strong visual link to the choir’s identity. The colours within the logo are inspired by The Royal School of Church Music Voice for Life and Singing Awards. To the choristers, every award is known as a ‘ribbon’ and each reflect their musical development, dedication and achievements as they work towards their examinations.

This redesign brings together tradition, practicality and youth led creativity, connecting past and present members of the choir through a shared passion and symbolism.
